Words of The Week is a list of words I have learned throughout the week. It helps me keep track of my expanding vocabulary and teaches us all something new.

Extemporaneous – Done or performed without preparation, in the spur or the moment.
“You can always tell which professors speak extemporaneously versus the ones that prepare for their lectures.”
Uncanny – Strange, mysterious, unsettling in a way that is hard to describe.
“Analog horror is uncanny to me, just like The Teletubbies.”
Xanadu – An idyllic, beautiful place. It was most popularly used in a poem from 1816 called, “Kubla Khan.”
“Now I found my paradise, my own xanadu.”
Levity – A lack of seriousness, humor, or lightheartedness.
“You can’t bring levity to a room full of trifling heauxs.”
SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors are prescriptions used primarily to treat depression and anxiety.
“SSRIs are not SNRIs because they impact different chemicals in yo brain.”
